A Center Grove teen was taken to the juvenile detention center after his parents told police he had driven their truck into their garage and a creek.
Police were called to the 400 block of Basswood Drive about 9 p.m. Sunday. A man told police his 17-year-old son had gotten angry after his mother had told him to do his chores, according to a Johnson County Sheriff’s Office report.
The man had told his son to leave, and the two argued. The teen then told his father he was going to drive the truck into their home, and then into the creek, the report said.
The teen got into the truck and drove it into the closed garage door. He then drove across the street into a field, where he drove in circles, and then drove into a nearby creek, the report said.
Police searched for the teen and found him later that night. The teen was taken to the Johnson County Juvenile Detention Center and could face charges of auto theft, criminal recklessness with a vehicle, criminal mischief and two counts of leaving the scene of an accident.
