An Indian Creek student-athlete received a concussion and whiplash and was taken to the hospital after a hit while competing in a football game Thursday night.
Jacob Young, 14, was hit twice during a freshman football game. The first hit was to his helmet, and Young complained of some pain. The second hit was to his back and knocked him to the ground, Bargersville Fire Chief Jason Ramey said.
An ambulance took Young to Community Hospital South in Indianapolis. He was conscious and alert and able to move. He told emergency workers he was feeling better by the time they got to the hospital, Ramey said.
Young was treated and released Thursday night.
Doctors said he had a concussion and whiplash and needed to rest. His father said he was recovering well on Friday, Ramey said.
