The stoplight at a main intersection in downtown Franklin is set to be turned back on today.
The light at Jefferson and Main streets was turned off Monday as part of the construction on North Main Street, a $3.3 million project that involves putting a new storm drainage system under Main and Madison streets and improving the structure of the roads and sidewalks.
Construction workers had to turn off the light to replace storm drains at the intersection, street commissioner Ron Collins said. That work was expected to take a day.
City officials had hoped to turn the stoplight off Wednesday, but rain delayed the construction, Franklin Director of Operations Matt Zimmerman said.
