Two busy Center Grove area roads will be closing, and a major intersection will be closed for months.
Johnson County is turning Whiteland Road and County Road 144 into a roundabout, and that means you should expect orange cones and closures over the next few months.
Morgantown Road will be closed just south of Whiteland Road starting Thursday to relocate a utility line. Once that work is finished, Whiteland Road and County Road 144 will be closed for about 60 days to construct the roundabout.
Don’t worry, the roads won’t be closed at the same time.
Johnson County Highway Department does not plan to shut down the intersection of Whiteland Road and County Road 144 until after it reopens Morgantown Road, highway director Luke Mastin said.
