Scott Roberson , Daily Journal / From left, Robert Felkins, Clarence Schuster, Roy Spears and Charles Conrad are four of the eight Johnson County World War II veterans joining 70 other Hoosiers on the Indy Honor Flight to Washington, D.C.
Nearly 70 years ago, Clarence Schuster received the Purple Heart to honor his bravery while in Italy during World War II.
Today, he will be honored again for his service with a trip to Washington, a city he’s never visited. He’ll travel with seven other local veterans of the war.
“It’s supposed to be the most wonderful thing I ever did,” he said. “It’s an honor for the veterans, so I would like to go.”
