Defending champion Center Grove had no problem advancing from the boys tennis sectional semifinal with a 5-0 win Thursday against Indian Creek.
With the win, the No. 7 Trojans will vie for a 24th straight sectional title today against Whiteland, which defeated Franklin 3-2 in Thursday’s other semifinal match.
The championship is slated for 4:30 p.m. at Center Grove.
Center Grove senior Luke Andersen got things rolling at No. 1 singles when he defeated Cody Breedlove 6-0, 6-0.
Andersen’s younger brother, sophomore Conner Andersen, beat freshman Brett Maulden 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles.
At No. 3 singles, sophomore Cam Schoolcraft beat Indian Creek’s Elliott Van Hoy 6-0, 6-0.
The Trojans’ No. 1 doubles team of seniors Logan Clevenger and Cole McDaniel earned a 6-0, 6-0 win, while the No. 2 team of senior Kyle Marsh and junior Vaughn Knutson beat Noah Benedict and Jared Modungo 6-1, 6-2.
