Two people are dead after a man shot his estranged wife and then himself on an Edinburgh street.
Police said Kevin Stitt, 30, and Amber Stitt, 30, both of Edinburgh, were killed in the shooting Monday night.
Amber Stitt had called police in recent weeks due to being fearful of her husband, police reports show.
The couple had a 15-year-old child.
Multiple people called police about 7 p.m. Monday and said shots had been fired at the intersection of Center Cross and Franklin streets. One person also reported hearing a woman yell, Edinburgh Police Chief David Mann said.
Witnesses told police Kevin Stitt drove a moped to the intersection where Amber Stitt was walking. He stopped, took off the seat and pulled out a revolver and shot Amber Stitt. He then shot himself in the head, Mann said.
Amber Stitt was taken in an ambulance headed to Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital, and died, Mann said.
