Two teens were injured after the mo-ped they were riding struck the back of a school bus Monday.

Swaye Novreske, 14, was driving a mo-ped behind the bus on Johnson Avenue in Franklin about 3:30 p.m. The bus stopped to let children off, and Novreske told police he was unable to stop the mo-ped, according to the accident report. He told police he didn’t know why the mo-ped wouldn’t stop.

The mo-ped fell over, and Novreske and passenger Richard Kreienbrink, 14, fell off, the report said.

Novreske received an injury to his shoulder or upper arm, and Kreienbrink received an injury to his knee or foot, the report said.

Updates on their conditions and how they were treated were not available Tuesday.

Novreske received a citation for violating traffic rules that apply to mo-peds, including driving a mo-ped while younger than 15.
