When a Center Grove area resident looks off his back porch, all he can see are the bricks of his neighbor’s house, less than 20 feet away.
That lot had been empty since Joe Merlo built his house in 2008. But a new developer purchased the Lexington Green at Hickory Stick subdivision in 2011 and was able to find a buyer for the lot this year.
That’s when Merlo found out his property line had been drawn incorrectly, and now the builder was planning to squeeze the new house into a shortened lot. After hiring a lawyer and spending months trying to work with Coronado Homes to move the house next door, he eventually decided he was wasting his time and money.
