Buoyed by more than just its rich postseason tradition, the Center Grove girls cross country team has good reason for optimism.

The Trojans, after all, return the foundation of last year’s team that finished ninth at the IHSAA state meet. They expect nothing less than at top-five finish this season.

Schoettmer is joined by experienced seniors Delainey Burnett, Jordan Timmons and Anna Burton.

The Trojans also return experienced runners Rachel Dever and Shelbi Dishman, both juniors.

Edinburgh’s top returners include juniors C.J. Warnack and Chelsie Pedigo. They are joined by sophomore Teah Burton, and freshmen Kenzie Taflinger and Lilia Perez.
