The grandma walks two of her great-grandchildren to and from the bus stop every day and tries to help them with their homework after school because she wants to make sure they eventually will graduate from high school.

Sarah Rebekah “Becky” Pierce, 84, who has two daughters and a total of 12 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, went to high school for three years but left before graduating to work full time on her family farm. She married Ralph D. Pierce a few years later and has spent the past six decades helping raise and support her family.

She always has been a firm believer that her children and their children would need to finish high school because they would need to use the lessons taught in math, English and other classes throughout their lives.
