A Franklin woman has been charged with neglect after police found marijuana and spice in a hotel room she and her children were staying in earlier this month.
Alisyn Service, 23, of 395 2nd St., Franklin, has been charged with neglect of a dependent, a felony, and possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia, both misdemeanors, Johnson County Deputy Prosecutor Doug Cummins said.
Police went to a Franklin hotel on Sept. 4 after receiving a tip that Service was using drugs in front of her children. Officers smelled burnt marijuana coming from the hotel room, and Service told police two friends of hers had been using marijuana but she hadn’t, a Franklin Police Department report said.
Police found items used to smoke marijuana and spice in the room. Two children were also staying in the room, and police called Child Protective Services, the report said.
