Franklin College and Franklin Parks and Recreation Department will co-host Zumba Fest 2012 on Sept. 29 at the college to raise money for an injured woman.

The event begins at 1 p.m. at Branigin Field and will raise money to help cover medical expenses for Franklin College alumna Angee Poe, who was an active member of the Franklin Parks and Recreation Department. Poe suffered a severe brain injury in a car accident and is in treatment at Shepherd Center in Atlanta.

The hourlong event is open to all ages, and no preregistration is necessary. There is no entry fee, but donations will be accepted at the gate. T-shirts and water will be given to participants while supplies last.

For more information, contact Emily Marten, Franklin College wellness coordinator, at 738-8087.
