Letter: Take moment to show support for troops

To the editor:
I would like to encourage all Johnson County residents to stop by Otte Golf in Greenwood between 4 and 9 p.m. Saturday to participate in our Salute to the Troops.
I understand that everyone’s schedule gets really busy on the weekends, but please take 15 minutes to stop in and sign our banners that will be hanging on our military bases in Afghanistan.
This token of our appreciation and support will mean so much to our men and women deploying from Camp Atterbury in the year ahead.
When you look at your calendar and think, “Sorry, that day just isn’t convenient,” stop and ask yourself what part of Germany, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq or Afghanistan was or is convenient for those who serve and protect our country and our freedom.
I hope to see you on Saturday — it’s the least we can do for those who do so much for all of us. America: land of the free because of the brave.
