Naomi M. Thompson, 33, passed away Tuesday Aug. 28, 2012, in Greenwood. She was a resident of Greenwood.

Naomi was born Feb. 5, 1979, to John and Debbie (Buckingham) Thompson in Franklin.

She graduated from Center Grove High School, class of 1997. She attained a Bachelor of Science degree from Asbury University in Kentucky and then received a master’s degree for physician assistant from Chatham University in Pennsylvania.

Naomi enjoyed spending time doing her family’s genealogy. She loved collecting teddy bears and had a large collection. She was a member of Southside Bible Church and enjoyed Bible studies at the church.

Survivors include her parents, John and Debbie Thompson of Greenwood; a sister, Rebekah (Anthony) Franklin of Lexington, Ky.; grandparents, Bill and Virginia Schreckengast of Greenwood and Bill and Betty Buckingham of Pennsylvania; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by a grandfather, Charles Thompson.

A funeral service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Friday at Southside Bible Church, 1265 N. Madison Ave., Greenwood. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until service time Friday at the church. Burial will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Glenns Valley, Greenwood.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions of a teddy bear in Naomi’s honor may be given to the Wheeler Mission Ministries, 205 E. New York St., Indianapolis, IN 46204, or at the funeral service at Southside Bible Church.
