| Robert Earl Linder |
Robert Earl Linder, 68, of Greenwood went home to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, Aug. 31, 2012.
He was born on May 27, 1944, in Anderson, a son of the late Ernest and Helen (Gladden) Linder.
He is survived by his loving children, Brian (Laura) Linder, Christie Gerrior, Kim Linder and Jenny Linder and his grandchildren, Kyle and Kara Linder, and Vinnie and Ava Gerrior.
Robert, or as many people knew him as Bob, will be remembered as a loving and devoted father to his four children. He was the life of a conversation and never met a stranger.
He graduated from Whiteland High School in 1962. He then proudly served our country in the U.S. Army for six years.
Bob dedicated much time and hard work to General Motors-Allison Transmission for more than 30 years and made many lifelong friends along the way.
He loved to be outdoors, often walking 10 miles a day, and kept his lawn immaculate. He was also an avid IU basketball fan, never missing a game and attended many of them with his children.
Bob touched many lives and will always be remembered as having the best sense of humor to overcome anything.
A service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Greenwood Chapel, 481 W. Main St.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today. Burial will be at East Maplewood Cemetery in Anderson.
The four children would like to express our deepest appreciation for the doctors, nurses, and staff of Community Hospital South-Intensive Care Unit in the amazing and beautiful compassion they exhibited toward our family in this time.
