Kay Karolyn (Jorgensen) Arnold, 76, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012, in Franklin. She was a resident of Franklin.
Kay was born March 8, 1936, in Carroll, Iowa, to Harold and Agnes (Kvamme) Jorgensen.
She married Duane Arnold in Omaha, Neb., on July 12, 1958; they were married for 54 years.
Kay was a preschool teacher for many years at the co-op preschool at First Presbyterian Church in Franklin.
She loved playing the piano and organ. She was a piano teacher in the Franklin community for 25 years.
She was a founding member of the Johnson County Pregnancy Center. She had a passion for involvement with Foreign Missions Discipleship Training.
Survivors include her husband, Duane Arnold of Franklin; two children, Kirsten (Rex) Windhorst of Franklin and Kevin (Lillian) Arnold of Greenwood; a sister, Karen Kennedy of Nebraska; and two grandchildren, Stacey and Stephen Windhorst of Franklin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Agnes Jorgensen.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Franklin Memorial Christian Church, 1720 Graham Road, Franklin. Friends and family may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the church. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
