Mary Catherine Webb, 60, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012. She was a resident of Leesburg, Va.

She was born Feb. 7, 1952, to Mary Margaret (Partenheimer) Webb and the late Denzil Webb in Franklin.

She graduated third in her class from Franklin Community High School in 1970. While in high school, she was a member of the National Honor Society, Tri-Hi-Y, concert choir, Madrigal Singers, Future Teachers of America, Pep Club, the Electron, GGA, the Cinderellas and the track team. She attended Girls’ State at Indiana University.

She attended Franklin College and Indiana University.

Cathy is survived by two children, Erika J. Huddleston (Peter) of Leesburg, Va., and Matthew L. Decker (Irina) of Koln, Germany. She had two granddaughters, Elana Joy and Philipa Grace Huddleston. She also is survived by her mother, Mary Margaret (Partenheimer) Webb of Franklin; a sister, Judy Joan Webb of Chicago; a brother, D. Stephen Webb (Cindy) of Seattle; three nephews, Geoffrey, Christopher and Timothy Freeman; two great-nieces, Emily and Olivia Freeman; and five great-nephews, Toby Ty, Eli, Joe and William Freeman. Several aunts, uncles and many cousins also survive.

She loved her family and spent many hours doing things with them and traveling to visit with those who lived out of state, in England and in Germany.

Spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters, was what she enjoyed the most.

A memorial service will be at the Community Church in Leesburg, Va., where she resided, at 11 a.m. Sept. 15.

Memorial contributions may be made for lung cancer research or to the One Room Schoolhouse located in Franklin.

On Nov. 23, a celebration of her life will be conducted at Second Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, east of Franklin off State Road 44, where she was a member. Most of her family and friends still reside in Franklin and Johnson County. Her childhood was spent at this church learning about the Bible and God’s love.
