Mary Ellen Wildridge Bates, 83, of Indianapolis, died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012.
She is survived by her husband, Max A. Bates; two children, Debe (Jack) Williams of Spencer and James Bates of Westfield; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Bates; and a sister, Esther (James) Riffey, of Battle Creek, Mich.
A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Southport Chapel, 7520 Madison Ave., Indianapolis. Mary will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
