Darwin “Diddy” Whitaker, 76, died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012, in Greenwood. He was a resident of Greenwood.
Survivors include his wife, Sylvia (Sears) Whitaker of Greenwood; two children, Rhonda (Kevin) Puckett of Whiteland and Greg (Alisa) Whitaker of Martinsville; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five siblings, Bill Whitaker, Lee Whitaker, Bonnie Whitaker, Vella Whitaker and Irene Whitis.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church, 200 Sunset Blvd., Greenwood. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
