Trieste Julia Maio, 97, of Greenwood, passed away Sept. 17, 2012.
She was born in the state of Maine on Aug. 5, 1915, to the late Ermenio and Emma Marsh.
She married Anthony M. Maio on June 13, 1936, and he preceded her in death on May 16, 2006.
She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Cody H. West.
Survivors include her sons, Michael and Joseph Maio; daughter Gina Marie (Ron) West; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
She loved children and was a nanny for four years.
She was employed by Real Silk in Indianapolis for 17 years, and she had also worked for Curtiss-Wright during the war. She became an inspector after studying at Arsenal Tech.
She became a homemaker who loved crocheting baby clothes, and she also sold Avon.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church, where Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, with visitation one hour prior to the service Friday at the church. Entombment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
