Walter C. Henricks, 70, of Morgantown, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at the Waters of Martinsville.
He was born Aug. 26, 1942, in Indianapolis to Cecil and Alva Mae Henricks.
He married Debra A. (Smith) Henricks on Feb. 23, 1980, at Franklin Memorial Christian Church; she survives.
He was a 1960 graduate of Emerich Manuel High School in Indianapolis; received his bachelor’s degree in engineering from Purdue University; and attended the Herron School of Art in Indianapolis.
He attended Emanuel Church at Stones Crossing and was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
He enjoyed fishing, trap shooting, golfing, and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife Debra A. (Smith) Henricks of Morgantown; daughter Laura J. Henricks of Logansport; son, Douglas L. Henricks; grandchildren Kasey Smithers of Morgantown and Gabriel Smithers of Logansport; two sisters, Joyce Billington of Indianapolis and Janet Coffey (Mike-deceased) of Beech Grove; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.
Rev. Rick Clayton will conduct a celebration of life service at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 S. U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin with a reception immediately following the service at the mortuary. Friends may call from 3 p.m. until service time at the mortuary.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Johnson County.
