Vada Eleanor Platt, 91, of New Whiteland, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012.

She was born in Timber Lake, S.D., on May 1, 1921. She was married to Charles Platt on Feb. 22, 1946.

Vada was an active member of Mount Auburn United Methodist Church.

We remember her as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and a talented seamstress, cook and organ player.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Platt; two daughters, Karen Kirkpatrick and Wanda Slater (Jim); two granddaughters, Karey Thompson (Jason) and Dana McNulty (Zach); and a sister, Beth Oster.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Little and Sons Funeral Home, 4901 E. Stop 11 Road, Indianapolis. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
