Rocky A. McTarsney, 59, passed away Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at his home in Morgantown.

He was born Dec. 3, 1952, in Franklin to his parents, Lynn Oliver and Esther Marie (Rogers) McTarsney.

Rocky was a 1971 graduate of Franklin Community High School and went on to serve his country with the U.S. Army Airborne.

Survivors include his father, Lynn McTarsney of Franklin; two sons, Rocky A. McTarsney Jr. of Plainfield and Matthew A. McTarsney of Franklin; one daughter, Angie G. McTarsney of Morgantown; three brothers, Brian McTarsney of Amity, and Jack (Carol) McTarsney and Barry (Lisa) McTarsney, both of Franklin; three sisters, Debbie (Larry) Bowman of Edinburgh, Crystal (Tom) Smith of Waverly and Dawn McTarsney of Greenwood; and two grandchildren, Joseph and Josh McTarsney.

Rocky was preceded in death by his mother, Esther McTarsney; and his wife, Iva Jane (Burnam) McTarsney, on June 6, 2010, whom he married in Cadiz, Ky.

Rocky retired in 2009 as a

production operator with Arvin Industries in Franklin and Columbus after 37 years of service.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and visiting flea markets and yard sales.

The Rev. Jim Moore will conduct a funeral service 1 p.m. Monday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home, Cremation and Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St., Morgantown. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown, with military rites presented by the Martinsville American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars honor guards.
