Alva K. Burton, 78, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, at his home in Shobonier, Ill.
He is survived by two daughters, Lorraine (Randy) Sluder of Edinburgh, and Dianna (Edward) Helton and Dana (Mark) Jackson, both of Shobonier, Ill.; seven grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon Harvey and Ruby (Burton) Burton; his wife, Norma J. (Coy) Burton; and a daughter, Debbie Marie Burton.
Memorial services were conducted Monday at Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia, Ill., with Pastor Doug Wodtka officiating. An additional memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Grace Tabernacle Church in Edinburgh. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
