Tijera Ann “T.J.” Waggoner, 59, of North Vernon, passed away Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at her residence.
Mrs. Waggoner was born Aug. 1, 1953, in New Castle, the daughter of Richard Earl and Peggy Sue Miles Laughner.
She married Charles Robert “Chuck” Waggoner on April 28, 1974, in Martinsville. He survives.
Mrs. Waggoner was director of Human Services Inc. in Columbus and previously worked for Head Start in both Greensburg and Brown County.
She was a 1971 graduate of Greenwood Community High School. She received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education in 1976 and her master’s degree in 1979.
She was a member of Kappa Delta in Bloomington and First Baptist Church in North Vernon.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Charles “Chuck” Waggoner of North Vernon; one son, Bradley (Lindsey) Waggoner of Fort Bliss, Texas; three daughters, Tica (Ty) Rogers of Kokomo, Amy Elizabeth Waggoner of Indianapolis and Caris Waggoner of North Vernon; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robbie and Rick Laughner; and a sister, Alice Perrine.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in North Vernon, with the Rev. Bob Weeks officiating. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon.
Memorials may be made to the Jennings County Community Foundation through the funeral home.
