Edward T. Cotton Jr., 78, of Franklin, passed away Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, at his residence.
He was born March 26, 1934, in Peoria, Ill., to the late Edward T. Cotton Sr. and Mary (Lockwood) Cotton. He married Cathlene J. (Naes) Cotton on July 28, 1991, in St. Louis. She survives.
Mr. Cotton was a professional pilot for Rhoades Aviation in Columbus. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Cathlene J. (Naes) Cotton of Franklin; a son, Jeff Cotton (Tina) of Anderson, S.C.; three daughters, Terry Leyerle (Steve) of Oak Lawn, Ill., Jamie Percifield (Jesse) of Greenwood and Julie Reeder (Chris) of Vero Beach, Fla.; a brother, Ronald Cotton (Pat) of Peoria, Ill.; and five grandchildren, John Leyerle, Zachary Cotton, David Percifield, Lydia Chapman and Zane Chapman.
A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. (CDT) Friday at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, with full military honors.
Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center in Franklin is handling arrangements.
