Harry Eugene “Gene” Shoemaker, 70, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at IU Arnett Hospital in Lafayette. He was a resident of Delphi.

Survivors include his wife, Christie Gill; mother, Pauline Shoemaker of Lafayette; daughter, Sherri (Brian) Whiteman of Lafayette; son, Brad Shoemaker (Tonya) of Mulberry; four grandchildren; two brothers, Clyde (Betty) Shoemaker of Monticello and Harold Shoemaker of Rockfield; two sisters, Iva (Joe) Pennycuff of Greenwood, and Fran (Robert) Nance of Lafayette.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clay Shoemaker and brother, James Shoemaker

Friends may call from noon until the 2 p.m. service time today at Cree Funeral Home, 188 W. Main St., Camden. Rev. Jerry Long will officiate. A Masonic Service by the Masonic Lodge # 211 F & AM will also be conducted. Burial will follow in the Camden Cemetery with military graveside rites by the Camden and Delphi American Legion and the Delphi VFW.
