Mary Jo Hyett-Moore, 66, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, Iowa. She was a resident of Aledo, Ill.
Mary Jo was born Jan. 14, 1947, in Shelbyville to Jinks and Virginia (Prosser) Richardson. She married Lane Hyett on April 7, 2010.
Mary Jo worked with her husband at the L.R. Hyett furniture store.
Her most important job was being a devoted mom and grandma. She also enjoyed gardening and vacationing in Hawaii.
Those left to cherish Mary Jo’s memory include her husband, Lane; four children and their spouses, Douglas and Susan Moore of Hurst, Texas, David and Amy Moore of Batavia, Ill., Stephen and Anika Moore of Palatine, Ill., and Andrea Moore of Rock Island, Ill.; stepdaughter, Lisa and her husband, Jeremy, Finch of Aledo, Ill.; grandchildren, Jordan O’Rand, Alexandra and Adam Bravo, Chad, Connor and Alyssa Moore, Hannah, Joshua, Andrew and Aaron Moore, and Liam Rhattigan; two great-grandchildren, Lucy and Eleanor Bravo; four stepgrandchildren, Taylor, Tristen, Lauren and Natalie Finch; a sister, Patty Ramsey and her husband, Ralph, of Greenfield; half sister, Diana VanDellen of Lakeland, Fla.; and her mother-in-law, Babe Hyett of Aledo.
Mary Jo was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Harold Newkirk; and a stepson, Lance Hyett.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Speer Funeral Home, 2502 S. East Third St., Aledo, Ill. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Aledo Cemetery.
