Goldie Mae Baker, 76, of Greenwood, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2013, surrounded by her family.
She was born Aug. 19, 1936, in Page, W.Va., to the late Henry S. and Violet (Walkup) Honaker. She had worked at Sears, Center Grove schools and RCA.
She was a history buff at heart and enjoyed playing the guitar. Over the years, she baby-sat many children, who affectionately called her “Ma-maw.”
Survivors include her loving husband of 50 years, William J. Baker Sr.; two sons, William J. Baker Jr. and John (Stacy) Baker; two grandsons, Brevin and Tyler; and two siblings, Gracie Smith and Hobert Honaker.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home, 1605 S. State Road 135 at Olive Branch Road. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
