Edward J. Rogers, 82, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013, in Franklin. He was a resident of Franklin.
Ed was born April 13, 1930, in Cicero to Joseph E. and Dorothy (Garwood) Rogers.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was employed at Lamont Plastics while living in Illinois and in Franklin at Golden Corral and Arby’s restaurants.
Ed enjoyed spending time playing bingo, fishing, woodworking and gardening.
Survivors include his companion of 20 years, Nancy Thomas of Franklin; a son, Robert Rogers of Mississippi; a stepson, Ricky Rogers; four stepdaughters, Theresa, Denise, Linda and Judy; a sister, MaryAnn Crumm of Ohio; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Esther McTarsney and Beulah J. Starned; and two brothers, Jewell and James Rogers.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Jessen Funeral Home, Franklin Chapel, 197 E. Jefferson St. Visitation will be from noon until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
