Timothy Allen Powers, 34, passed away on Feb. 19, 2013, in Dillon, Colo., where he had resided since August 2007.
Tim was born on Jan. 30, 1979, in Beech Grove.
He graduated from Brownsburg High School in Brownsburg in 1997, and attended Westwood College of Aviation Technology in Denver, Colo.
He worked as an auto mechanic in Lowell, Bedford and most recently in Summit County, Colo.
Tim loved the mountains of Colorado and shared his passions and talents with several organizations within the community, including the High Country Snowmobile Club and the Tenderfoot Track Club.
He loved building and flying radio control airplanes and helicopters.
He was a gifted pianist, playing totally by ear. His other gifts included art, woodworking and electronics.
He loved snowboarding, snowmobiling and dirt biking.
Tim was married to Carolanne Basile Powers on Oct. 30, 2010. Their beautiful baby daughter, Kayleigh Victoria, was born on July 27, 2011. Tim was previously married to Michelle Lewis on Oct. 27, 2000. Their wonderful son, Austin Thomas, was born on Feb. 14, 2001.
Tim is survived by his mother, Barbara Moomaw; his stepfather, Martin Moomaw; his father, Gregory Powers; his brothers, Gregory and Joshua Powers; his grandmother, Evelyn Powers; and his grandfather, Alvin Smith.
Tim was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles “Bill” Powers; and his grandmother, Juanita Smith.
Memorial services will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday Greenwood Christian Church, 2045 Averitt Road, Greenwood. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the church.
A fund has been established at Teachers Credit Union for the future needs and education of Tim’s children.
Donations may be made at the memorial service or at any Teachers Credit Union location. Checks should be made payable to the Tim Powers Memorial Fund.
