God called his angel, Janet Romaine Scott Davers, 71, home Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013. She was a resident of North Vernon.
She was born Aug. 14, 1942, in Johnson County to the late Wallace C. and Lula (Slevins) Scott. She married Steve C. Davers. He survives. They were married for 25 years.
Other survivors include children, Mark A. (Debbie) Goodin of Terre Haute, James D. Davers of Jonesville, Damon D. Davers of North Vernon, Deborah K. (Marino) Caraballo of Indianapolis and Lynetta K. (Michael) Porter of North Vernon; a sister, L. Sue (Carlos) Rooks of Largo, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Charlotte J. (Leon) Ross of Seymour; grandchildren, Cody O. Goodin, Nathan T. Goodin, Nicole M. Goodin, Michael S. Porter, James O. Porter, Autumn D. Booth, Kacy D. Supple, Riley E. Canner, Anthony M. Caraballo, Noah J. Davers, Camron L. Davers, Damon D. Davers II, Jordan E. Davers and Steven C. Davers III; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley G. Leonard, and her husband, Ernie; a grandson, W. Levi Miller; and brothers-in-law, Robert A., Jack W. and Jimmy D. Davers.
She was of the Baptist faith and was a 1960 graduate of Edinburgh High School. She retired in 2002 from Rockwell Automation, Reeves Plant, in Columbus after 35 years of service.
Her husband, children and grandchildren were greatly loved by her. They were her life. She enjoyed working in her garden, flowers and birds.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home, 302 E. Main Cross St., Edinburgh. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
