Joseph R. Haydock, 71, of New Whiteland, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014.

The son of Robert N. and Katherine E. Graham Haydock, Joe was born Jan. 11, 1943, in Bloomington.

He worked as a substitute teacher in several local school systems.

Joe was an active member of Risen Lord Lutheran Church.

He was a past master (1996) of Greenwood Masonic Lodge 514. He was also a member of the Shrine, Scottish Rite, and past governor of Banks of the Wabash York Rite College 72 where he earned the Order of the Purple Cross. He was a past patron (1998) of the Order of the Eastern Star No. 390, and member of the Greenwood American Legion Post No. 252. He also was Chapter Dad of William G. Morgan Chapter of DeMolay.

He served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife, Alene Lamprecht Haydock; and sister, Mary Helen Weaver.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Robert G. and John D. Haydock.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Risen Lord Lutheran Church, 3758 W. Whiteland Road, Bargersville, with a Masonic service at 11 a.m. and a funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.

In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Risen Lord Lutheran Church.
