Mary Lou Shumaker, 90, passed away Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, at her residence in Franklin. She was a former resident of Indianapolis.
Born Oct. 1, 1923, in Marion, Ill., to the late Tine and Allean Hudgens, she was a 1942 graduate of West Frankfort High School in Illinois.
An avid Pacer and Colts fan, she really enjoyed shopping and watching soap operas and people. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
She had worked at P.R. Mallory, RCA, William H. Block and Lazarus.
Survivors include her children, Robbie Sonnenberg (Phil), Joe Shumaker (Cinda), Lou Ann Rose (Matt); grandchildren, Steve (Noura) and Jon (Rebekah) Sonnenberg, Andrea Eppley (Barry), Jason Bradley (Jackie), Cindy Erickson (Stephen), Angie Shumaker, Jeremy Rose (Amber), Sarah Rose, Jennifer Kinsley (Jim), Matt Culp (Christina); great-grandchildren, Sam, Tait, Reid, Quin, Maya, Jack, Emma, Lauren, Allison, Gabriella, Christian, Tyler, Cassidy, Chelsea and Clayton.
She was preceded in death by husband of 59 years, Clarence J. Shumaker, Sr. and daughter, Jane Ellen Sweigart.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at G.H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Ave., Indianapolis with a funeral service at 1 p.m Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
