Alger James Beasley
Alger James Beasley, 92, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014, at the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin. He was a resident of Franklin.
He was born on Dec. 9, 1921, in Pulaski County, Ky., to Carless and Susie (Parton) Beasley.
He married Lona Elizabeth Dick in October 1941. She preceded him in passing on March 6, 2012.
Survivors include a son, Carroll (Betty) Beasley of Royce City, Texas; a daughter, Kathy Hillenburg of Columbus; two sisters, Flossie Decker of Franklin and Hettie Dunning of Bowling Green, Ky.; a brother, Carlie Beasley of Cincinnati; four grandchildren, Roxie (George) McDonald, Deana (Larry) Holley, Shelley McDowell and Kimberly Hillenburg-Sanford; 11 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in passing by his wife, Lona; three brothers, Henry, Vester and Lester Beasley; and three sisters, Gurt Blanton, Versie Beasley and Flonnie Richardson.
He was employed by Arvin Automotive in Franklin for more than 38 years in maintenance.
Alger was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Franklin.
He enjoyed tinkering with and rebuilding objects.
A service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at Flinn & Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
