Mary S. Balistreri Dolce entered eternal rest Thursday, May 8, 2014.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Vincent Dolce; her parents, Salvatore and Providenzia Balistreri; a brother, Thomas Ricardo Balistreri; a brother-in-law, John T. Kelly Jr.; and her beloved pet, Sparkey.

She was born in Milwaukee on Oct. 11, 1924.

She is survived by her children, Mary C. Kukulka (Ted), Prudence “Prudy” Williams and Sam J. Dolce (Amy); four grandchildren, Thomas J. Williams, Timothy J. Laughlin, Elizabeth O’Shea and Martina Dolce; nine great-grandchildren; her sister, Catherine N. Kelly of Milwaukee; and several nieces and nephews.

Mary worked at Indiana University Hospital as a kitchen supervisor for several years. She was a founding member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church as it was being built under the direction of the late Pastor John Sciarra.

Mary loved to cook and do several different types of needlework.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East St., Indianapolis. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel in Indianapolis.

Mary’s family wishes to thank the pastoral associates from St. Barnabas and SS. Francis and Clare of Assisi Catholic churches, Father Vince Lampert and Msgr. Tony Volz, for their visits and prayers, as well as Madison Manor Health Care for their kindness and loving care.
