Henry Ford, 84, of Indianapolis, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2014, at Franciscan St. Francis Health-Indianapolis.
He was born March 13, 1930, in Gallatin, Tennessee, to Charles and Ruby (Gillium) Ford.
He married Martha M. (Carver) Ford on May 17, 1952, in Indianapolis; she survives.
He had been a maintenance supervisor for American Hoist and Derrick and Arvin Automotive in Franklin.
He was a member of the Baptist Congregation. He enjoyed watching the Joel Osteen ministry.
He and his wife enjoyed camping and spending winters in Ocala, Florida.
Survivors include his wife, Martha M. (Carver) Ford of Indianapolis; children, Eddie Bruce Ford (Teresa) of Indianapolis, Connie K. Dant (Randy, deceased) of Greenwood and Darrell Glen Ford (Oscilla) of Anderson, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Theresa Lynn Scott, on Dec. 7, 2007; brothers, Lloyd Ford, Charles Ford and two infant brothers; and sisters, Virgie Rawls, Vera Terry, Louise Taylor, Virginia Palmer, Vada Byrd and Edith Yager.
The Rev. Peter Triller will conduct a service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 S. Morton St. (U.S. 31 South) in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until the service time Tuesday at the mortuary. Entombment will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
