Mary “Janie” Burdine, 82, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2014. She was a resident of Indianapolis.

She was born Jan. 13, 1932, in Indianapolis to the late Rev. William Ross and Mary Jane Murphy.

Survivors include her children, Sheryll (Mike) O’Leary and Mike (Debbie) Burdine; grandchildren, Heather (Scott) Cooper, Heidi (Jeremy) Roll, and Daniel and David O’Leary; great-grandchildren, Alexandria, Zoë, Nolan, Sophia, Nicholas, Colton and Garrett; a brother, Dan Murphy; and a sister, Nancy Knochel.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wm. Bearl Burdine.

Janie was employed for 25 years by Sears. She was a member of Meridian Church of God.

A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Greenwood Chapel, 481 W. Main St. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery.
