Max Allen Workman, 78, died Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at his residence in Edinburgh.
He was born April 2, 1936, in Edinburgh to the late Marsh Faust Workman and Alma (Cochran) Workman.
He married Marilyn Ann (Morris) Workman on Oct. 2, 1971; and she preceded him in death Jan. 22, 2014.
He is survived by two daughters, Melissa A. (Max) Placke of Granger and Rebecca D. Workman (Michael) Norton of Edinburgh; two sons, Morris (Jill) Houchin of Indianapolis and Jeff (Michelle) Houchin of Colorado Springs, Colorado; a brother, Richard “Dick” Workman of Edinburgh; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a little dog Lucy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and two brothers, Charles and Jack Workman.
He was a U.S. Army veteran. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 28 years as a carrier and then worked for Challenge Plastics, retiring April 2014.
He was a longtime resident of Edinburgh. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors and sunshine.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
Memorials maybe made to World Wildlife Federation, in care of the funeral home.
