Dennis L. Zook, 72, of Franklin, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin.
He was born Jan. 10, 1942, in Franklin to Carl and Lucille (Johnson) Zook. He married Pamela Lee (Miller) Zook; she preceded him in death on March 23, 2013. He was a member of Franklin Masonic Lodge No. 107.
He had been a welder for Amtrak in Beech Grove for 40 years. He also had been an electrician’s assistant for Dick Sledge in Bargersville for several years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran.
Survivors include his children, Brenda Moore of Bargersville, Alan Zook (Darla) of Waynesville, Missouri, Daniel Zook (Karla) of Trafalgar, Kenneth Zook of Franklin, Dianna Fennell (Daniel) of Massena, New York, Denise Richards (Donnie Larson) of Franklin, and Jennifer Lewis (John) of Greenwood; stepson, Lee Bingham of Franklin; an uncle, Merrill “Beezer” Johnson of Franklin; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren and four great-stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a stepdaughter, Melody Taulman on March 3, 2009, and brothers, Jim Zook and Gene Zook.
Franklin Masonic Lodge No. 107 will conduct a Masonic service at 1:30 p.m. today at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 S. Morton St. (U.S. 31 South) in Franklin with a service to immediately follow conducted by the Rev. Steve Sorensen. Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. until service time today at the mortuary. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
