William W. Stacy, 74, of Cloverdale, passed away July 12 at Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born Feb. 1, 1940, in Franklin, Louisiana. He was the son of the late Ralph and Vida (Sorrells) Stacy.
He married Kathryn Stacy June 29, 1962; and she survives.
He served in the U.S. Navy as a young man and was a skilled tradesman for Allison Transmission Division of General Motors and Chrysler Corp. for many years.
In retirement, he devoted his time and worked for the Cloverdale nursing home. He attended Cloverdale Christian Church, where he was an elder.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Carol Summers and husband, David, of Martinsville, SuAnn Parks and husband, Robert, of Muncie and Bill Carmony and wife, Nancy, of Chattanooga, Tennessee; brothers, Eugene Stacy and wife, Anna, of Indianapolis and Eddie Stacy and wife, Teresa; sister, Jeanette Fischer of Black Diamond, Washington; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Stacy will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Whitaker Funeral Home, 201 N. Lafayette St. in Cloverdale. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at Cloverdale Cemetery.
