Amy Nichole Black
Amy Nichole (Dillman) Black, 33, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014. She was a resident of Greenwood.
She was born to Thomas and Joyce (Gilbert) Dillman on Nov. 13, 1980.
Amy married her high school sweetheart, Dennis Allan Black, on July 5, 2003. Amy was a proud mother of her sons, Riley Dean, Ty Allan and Drew Thomas.
She is survived by her loving parents; her husband; sons, Ty Allan and Drew Thomas; brother, Greg (Dana) Dillman; her husband’s parents, Dennis and Katherine (Bowen) Black; husband’s siblings, Dawn (Mark) Meyer and Denise (Craig) Rodgers; grandmother, Mayme (Page) Gilbert; four nieces; two nephews; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by grandparents, Marion “Buz” Dillman, Billy Gilbert and Geneva (Perkins) Dillman; and her son, Riley Dean Black.
Amy was raised in Greenwood and graduated from Center Grove High School in 1999 with academic honors. While in high school, Amy was student body president and a member of the Debtones choir.
Amy graduated from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis within the Indiana University School of Nursing in 2003 with academic honors. While at IUPUI, Amy was a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta National Academic Honor Society for Freshmen and the Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society.
She most recently was employed as a registered nurse with Community Physician Network Breast South in Greenwood. Amy previously was employed with St. Vincent Hospital and Health Care Center as an registered nurse in the NICU.
Most importantly, Amy possessed a strong faith in Jesus Christ and dedicated her life toward serving him while helping others. She was a member of Mount Pleasant Christian Church in Greenwood.
A celebration of life service will be at noon Saturday at Mount Pleasant Christian Church, 381 N. Bluff Road, Greenwood. Calling will be from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Amy Black Memorial Fund, c/o Chase Bank, 565 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, IN 46142.
