Evelyn (Norris) Young, 85, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014, in Frank-lin. She was
a resident of Whiteland.
She was born July 24, 1929, in Indianapolis to Victor and Edith (MacWilliams) Norris. She married Charles Vernon Young on June 28, 1957.
Evelyn is survived by three children, Jacqueline Young, Teri (Terry) Raney and Bradley (Emily) Young, all of Indianapolis; three grandchildren, Kelly (Ron) Bowen of Noblesville, Kim (Jared) Sneed of Nineveh and Justin Raney of Indianapolis; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Ray Norris of Indianapolis; and her precious dog, Mojo.
She was preceded in passing by her parents; her husband, Vernon; a son, Thomas Young; and sisters Mary, Mitzie, Billie and Lois.
Evelyn was a graduate of Southport High School. She was employed by Western Electric as an executive secretary, retiring in 1983 after many years of service.
She attended Mount Pleasant Christian Church, was a former member of the Red Hat Society and loved playing golf.
A celebration of Evelyn’s life will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Flinn & Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
