Florence (Terpstra) Nolting, 84, died Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis. She was a resident of Clark Township of Johnson County.
She was born Nov. 7, 1927, in Johnson County near Acton. Her parents were Joseph “Joe” Terpstra and Pietje (Kleiterp) Terpstra.
She married Donald W. Nolting on March 16, 1947.
She was a graduate of Clark High School of Johnson County.
Florence was a lifelong farm wife and homemaker. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Christian Church.
Florence enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, family gatherings, her ladies card group, watching sports on television and going out to dinner.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Hart of Indianapolis; three sons, Ronald Nolting and David Nolting, both of Indianapolis, and Gary Nolting of Needham; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald Nolting; an infant sister, Barbara Ann Terpstra; a sister, Dorothy Pence; and a brother, Engbert John “Hap” Terpstra.
The Rev. Greg Edens will conduct a funeral service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Jessen Funeral Home, Whiteland Chapel, 729 U.S. 31 North. Friends and family may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Acton Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Valley Christian Church in care of the funeral home.
