Chloe E. Walker, 83, died at 6:12 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2012, at Homeview Nursing Home in Franklin. She was a former resident of Bedford.
Born March 13, 1929, in Fort Ritner in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Fred and Mattie Beavers.
She married Sharron Lee Walker on June 29, 1950; and he survives.
She was of the Lutheran faith and was confirmed into the Medora Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in November 1947.
She graduated from Vallonia High School.
She was a registered nurse and held a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing.
Chloe was active in 4-H and had raised a calf and helped on the family farm. She was good at growing flowers and vegetables.
Surviving are her husband, Sharron Walker of Franklin; two sons, David (Debbie) Walker of Seattle and Eric (Jennifer) Walker of Indianapolis; one daughter, Sheila McGregor of Franklin; five grandchildren, Stephanie, Jennifer, Katie, Josh and Stacy; four great-grandchildren, Emily, Silas, Junior and Riley; and six sisters, Pearl Wright of Medora, Mildred Petra of Indianapolis, Frances Dalton of Fort Ritner, Mary Foster of Seymour, Lulla Wolka of Vallonia and Ruth Silberman of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and five brothers, Thurman, Edmond, Curtis, Eugene and Thomas.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, 818 18th St., Bedford. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Dixon Chapel Cemetery in Leesville.
