Lennis Loyd Bowman, 84, of Franklin, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2012, in Franklin.
He was born Feb. 20, 1928, in Franklin, the son of Olin and Dessie (Henderson) Bowman.
He married Johna Mae (Jewell) on July 17, 1941. His loving wife of 71 years survives in Franklin.
Other survivors include a daughter, Priscilla Abercrombie of Franklin; two granddaughters, Libby (Mike) Deckard of Franklin and Sara (Kerry) Atwood of Franklin; five great-grandchildren, Josh (Brett) Deckard, Jenny (John) Branstetter, Jacob Deckard, Cassie Fleener and Janelle (John) Rowe; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in passing by his parents; a brother, Floyd Bowman; and a sister, Marie Morrow.
He was employed by Kroger in Franklin, Indianapolis and Greenwood as a meat cutter, retiring after 40 years of service.
He was a faithful member of Franklin First Assembly of God.
Lennis loved to fish and enjoyed gardening. He most enjoyed spending his time with his wife, daughter and grandchildren.
Pastors Phillip Curtis will conduct a service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Flinn & Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
