Faulty smoke detector blamed for school alarm

Fire crews found a faulty smoke detector but no fire when they were called to Pleasant Grove Elementary School on Tuesday.

White River Township firefighters were called to the school about 10 a.m. after a smoke detector in an air duct went off. Firefighters found no fire or smoke and determined the smoke alarm had malfunctioned, Chief Jeremy Pell said.

No students were evacuated, Pell said.
