Franklin College junior offensive lineman Austin Carlton has been named a second-team Capital One Academic All-American by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
A biology major, Carlton maintains a 3.7 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale.
The national honor marks the second consecutive year a Franklin student-athlete has been named an Academic All-American. Football alums Kyle Linville and Michael Parks were recognized for success on the football field and classroom in 2013.
