Michael Charles Pickhardt

Michael Charles Pickhardt, 61, passed away Monday, Dec. 29, 2014, in Indianapolis, surrounded by his loving family. He was a resident of Whiteland.

He was born Jan. 22, 1953, in Franklin to Dr. Robert Joseph and Doris Virginia (Rouner) Pickhardt.

Mike is survived by children, Laura Pickhardt, Emily Pickhardt, Jesse Pickhardt, Jamie Pickhardt and Melissa Pickhardt; grandchildren, Kurtis Pickhardt, Kalista Pickhardt, Kolby Burroughs, J.J. Pickhardt, Lorraine Pickhardt and Kyla Pickhardt; two sisters, Susan Crowe and Mary Jo Gallagher; one brother, David Pickhardt; his cats, Kitard and Kitae; and his dog, Odie.

He was preceded in passing by his parents; brother, James Joseph Pickhardt; great-niece, Faith Crowe; and brothers-in-law, Dan Crowe and John Gallagher.

Mike was a 1972 graduate of Whiteland Community High School.

He was a retired machinist with Amtrak in Indianapolis.

He enjoyed building in his shop, working on antique tractors and going to tractor pulls.

A celebration of Mike’s life will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Flinn & Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
